We have just learned, with great sadness,  of the death of RMIT Professor Paul Mees. We know this sentiment is shared by members of hundreds of community and transport groups across Melbourne.

Paul  has been a public transport guru and a great inspiration in the freeway/tollways battles over the last twenty years. He was a  charismatic and entertaining speaker at many public meetings and rallies over the years and represented interest groups on many government review committees. His book “Transport for Suburbia -Beyond the Automobile Age” (Published 2010) has been used by many as a source of advice.
