The hard work of the Flemington Association, for the no East West Link Campaign paid off on Derby Day. Elliott Avenue was adorned with signs by the Royal Park group some of whom then joined the Racecourse Road action. Banners were witty and informative – and the sunny day made the two hour stand easier.
Thanks to the Kensington stalwarts who joined over 100 citizens to express our concerns in regard to the East West Link. Thanks to those who drove pasr and tooted their support.
Our efforts touched locals who stopped to ask questions as well as race goers who were generally supportive.

Actions such as this which spread the message – this is not a real solution to Melbourne’s transport woes and is instead a very expensive folly – increase our odds of winning and keeping extra traffic out of Kensington.
The Victorian stayer, “No EWL”  owned by taxpayers,  out of the Public Transport stable, is still the horse to back this race-to-election season.
